Bamboo Charcoal
Bamboo
Charcoal is made from totally renewable resources in the Guangdong
region of China. Bamboo is a member of the grass family and is
the fastest growing plant in the world. The plantations work on
a five year cycle harvesting the plants and allowing the sun to
dry them naturally. It has few natural predators and so no fertilisers
or pesticides are used.
The
great advantage of bamboo charcoal is its porosity. This in turn
means a very high surface area to enable high absorbency of those
chemicals you wish to remove. It may be water treatment chemicals
in the case of our muddler, odours in the case of our shoe freshener
or a skin tonic in the case of our soap. It is said to be
up to 10 times as effective as wood charcoals.
